EAGLE — Eagle will hold a party for the environment on Saturday, May 8th.
The party begins with the Eagle Town Cleanup from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., followed by tree planting along Brush Creek from 10 a.m. to noon. The festivities continue from the Dusty Boot to Brush Creek Park and Pavilion in Eagle. Besides vendors and musical entertainment from local bands Hardscrabble and Frogs Gone Fishin', this year features a variety of educational activities for kids and their parents, as well as Recon Recycled Art Exhibit.
“Sustainability today is about new ways of doing things — positive lifestyle changes and exciting new technologies,” said Matt Scherr, executive director of the Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability. “It just makes us want to throw a party.”
Grub from Nicky's Quickies, Smiling Moose, The Dusty Boot and Luigi's Pastahouse is available for partygoers from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with locally brewed beer from Crazy Mountain Brewing Company available at noon. Water will also be available but bring your own water bottle or creative water-drinking container.
Party for the Planet is a project of the Eagle Valley Alliance for Sustainability, Gore Range Natural Science School and KZYR-The Zephyr. And is sponsored by Dusty Boot, Luigi's Pastahouse and the town of Eagle.
